Our Canadian friends (two couples) will be staying with us for the event that runs Thursday through Sunday. On Saturday there are a variety of events for children in the park. Coleen's group will put on an agility and flyball demo. Cosi and I will run in the agility demo.
All we need now is to have Mother Nature cooperate. Come on, Ol' Girl. Give us a good weekend.

Kathy and I went to Cadie's to check out her puppies. Mike stole my heart.
Mike's wide-eyed innocence always shows on his face.
Mike's coat is spectacular. He's got the dark markings of his tri-colored daddy along with the sable. I love to groom him and get him looking handsome.
One talent that Mike possesses is that he can howl. Man, can he sing! And now he's taught my other three dogs--even Brisco!--to howl. Of course, I can't catch them at it, but I have enjoyed the song from afar.
Happy Birthday, sweetheart.

I did find a new skill this weekend. I have always enjoyed scribing, but I gave it up this weekend for a new job: score table. USDAA has gone to electronic scoring, using a computer application written specifically for the score table. I must say, for a newbie who does not understand the scoring, rules, and various classes, it certainly made the entire process simple. It can be a two-person job, but since we were so short-handed for the trial, I took on both jobs of entering data in pencil in a book then electronically into the computer. With two monitors attached to the computer, exhibitors could come to the score table and see the results in real time. Quite impressive.
I had to laugh, though. Many "old timers" would come to the table and comment how they liked the old accumulator sheets and not this new electronic stuff. I hear things like that all the time in my computer classes. We like the way we learned, and don't try to change it!
I've seen AKC clubs using two monitors to show competitors the results in real time. I believe it was at one of the trials where Rhonda Toren was the secretary.

Cosi is at it again! My Special Red Boy made me laugh.
I went to bed early on Tuesday. Jack stayed up to watch "something with whistles" (some game). When he came to bed, he found me and all four dogs snuggled together. I slept through this whole event, so this is the story he told me.
Jack shooed the dogs off the bed, and all went, found a dog bed, and settled back down. Cosi, however, never budged. He was asleep on his back--a sure sign that he is seriously sleeping. Jack talked to him. No movement. Jack shook him. No movement. For a moment Jack was scared that something serious was wrong! Finally, he picked up Cosi and gave him a shake. Cos opened one eye and gave Jack a look like, "What?! I'm sleepin' here!" Jack put him in a dog bed, and Cosi conked out again.
Cosi gives everything his all--playing, eating, agility, and, apparently, sleeping.
